Professional net-workers rejoice! You can now promote yourself, search for jobs and other industry news on LinkedIn from your Blackberry with the release of LinkedIn for BlackBerry, version 1.0.

The app which will be available from BlackBerry App World in the near future and will "allow users to access their connections, invitations, and messages, but provide deep integration with BlackBerry Mail, Contacts, and Calendar, allowing (them) to integrate contacts, get LinkedIn mail to your inbox, and a lot more."

While there is already a LinkedIn app for the iPhone, the Blackberry-using business population of the world have been without. However despite Blackberry bringing out their own LinkedIn app, it is still said not to be as 'feature-rich' as the iPhone unit due to "their limitations of the software and hardware".

According to Mashable, Blackberry users are going to need a BlackBerry, Tour, Curve, or Bold with BlackBerry OS v4.3 or later" in order to run the app.

As you'd expect though, it does allow you to access;

1. Network Updates: Allowing you to access contact updates

2. Search: Self-explanatory

3. Connections: Check your contacts

4. Invitations: Um... invite more contacts

5. Messages: Not only do you get access to your LinkedIn messages, but you can integrate them with BlackBerry Mail. Whenever you receive a LinkedIn message, it’ll appear in your inbox just like any of your other messages.

6. Reconnect: Suggestions for new people to add to your connections.


New features

The app also has several integrated aspects for the BlackBerry including;

1. Contacts: Take your LinkedIn connections and drop them directly into your BlackBerry contacts, giving you quick access to the LinkedIn profiles of your business associates.

2. Messages: LinkedIn messages appear directly in your BlackBerry Inbox as if they were emails.

3. Calendar If an attendee of an event on your calendar has a LinkedIn profile, you can quickly pull it up.
