Multitasking ability coming soon?
While the iPhone is undeniably cool and a major 'game-changer' in the smartphone industry, one of its biggest annoyances has been its inability to allow the user to switch between apps, only allowing one to be run at any time. However, this could soon change...
According to the AppleInsider, the iPhone 4.0 software will "finally allow several third party apps to run concurrently and in the background" silencing all those who have bemoaned this shortcoming of Apple's flagship device.
Listening to the user base who have been complaining about this technological handicap for a while, Apple allegedly developed a "full-on solution" to multitasking on the iPhone OS. There are no details on how this will effect overall performance or battery life yet, not to mention how it will possibly compromise the phone's security features.
Although nothing has been confirmed, the rumours are saying that the software will be similar to the interface technology currently found on Mac OS X operating system.
Of course until Apple officially releases this news, take all these rumours with a pinch of salt but fingers crossed it's accurate.
